END OF TERM

July 18, 2013

Another school year and swimming year draws to an end.  Always a mixture of happiness and sorrow for me.   Delighted with how hard the children have worked this term towards their, well deserved, certificates and badges.  Well done everyone, I am so very proud of each and everyone of you.  Hopefully, when I can get hold of Leigh’s camera to download the photos, I will post some of the beautiful pictures of some of our tiny ones receiving their first swim awards.

Sorrow because it is the time of year when a number of our swimmers leave us for new pastures.  Changing to secondary school and with many gaining places at Marlin’s swimming club.  1st Swim School will miss you and wish you lots of fun and success with your future swimming.

A big thank you to my lovely teachers, Kathy, Rose, Leigh, Ali, Val, Abbi, Phil and cover teacher Lynne,  for all their hard work and support over the year.  Rose has decided to put her feet up on a Friday night and has taken retirement from the swim school.  Rose will be very much missed by the teachers and the children,  but I know that I will be persuading her to pop in for cover work from time to time.

Phil and I are now preparing for and looking forward to summer swim school. I am brushing up on my snorkelling and Rookie lifeguarding skills in preparation. There are still a few spaces left on some of the courses if you would like to enrol your child.

I hope that you all have a great summer break.  Please remember to stay safe in and around any water you may be swimming in over the holidays – come back to us fit and healthy.

Phil
